I was thinking on this and if you don’t design, I’ll learn coding and design myself :-)
Brazilians don’t really know how much they pay on tax on stuff they buy.
Even “notas fiscais” don’t show the proper calculations as they state something like this:
Total amount: R$100
ICMS: R$25
IPI: R$10
Others: R$15
So, 50% is tax.
And that’s misleading, cause actually the product cost was R$50,00, and the other R$50 are taxes, which makes 100% of taxes, doubling the cost of the product.
I understand there’s probably APIs from Receita Federal that covers taxes, but there’s also ‘approximations’ that can be made, or even OCR an actual receipt with the taxes written on it.
The idea of this would be to educate users on how much they actually pay in taxes, even tho that’s only part of it, as the taxes go back way before the end buyer.
Also, there’s the implications of the new taxes to be implemented in Brazil, soon.
