Account Update/Adjust Balance Feature

I don't keep track of personal finances in detail by categories and am only interested in the principal balance in my portfolio. I really need a function that would allow me to Update/Adjust Balance. All you need to do is to specify a new balance and transaction category and comment on the account and the application will automatically calculate + or - and add the transaction to the Journal.
