Add Separate Fields for Transaction Date and Value Date

I’d love to see a distinction between transaction date and value date in the app.

This would make it much easier to manage recurring monthly payments, like subscriptions.

Here’s the idea:

  • I set the recurring transaction using the value date (which is usually stable every month).

  • Then I manually enter the operation date, which often changes depending on how long my bank takes to process the payment.

This separation would make tracking expenses more accurate and realistic, especially for users whose banks process transactions with delays or inconsistent posting times.

Thanks for considering this — it would make the budgeting workflow much smoother!

    I don’t know what our friend here means by “value” date, but I too would like separate fields (or any solution that solves this problem) for the transaction date and the credit card’s bill due date. The current system works fine for expenses that are paid through a standard payment account, but not for credit cards, which have expenses in a month, but get paid in the next one.
