Apple Watch takes forever to correct balance

I’ve imported hundreds of transactions to the app on my phone. My Apple Watch is taking forever to load them. It seems to be taking 5 seconds to update the Account Balance with each transaction, one at a time. Surely it should sync the balance in milliseconds, not needing to do its own calculations.
