Family Sharing purchase not unlocking paid app version

Hello,

I purchased the full/paid version of an app on my Apple ID, and I'm part of a Family Sharing group with Purchase Sharing enabled. However, my family member is not able to access the paid version through Family Sharing. When she opens the app, she only sees the free version, even though Purchase Sharing shows as active for her account.

Could you please help me understand why the purchase isn't appearing as shared, and what steps I need to take so she can access the app I already paid for without having to purchase it again?

Thank you for your help.

    Hi @Francesco Betoschi,

Normally, the paid version of Budget Flow should also be available to members of your Apple Family Sharing group when Purchase Sharing is enabled. The sharing and validation of the purchase itself are handled by Apple.

On your family member’s device, please open the Budget Flow purchase screen and tap “Restore Purchases” at the bottom. This is sometimes required before Apple reports the shared purchase to the app and unlocks the paid features.

Please also verify that both Apple IDs are members of the same Family Sharing group, Purchase Sharing is enabled, and your family member is signed into the App Store with the correct Apple ID.

Apple provides further information about Purchase Sharing here: https://support.apple.com/108774

If “Restore Purchases” still does not unlock the full version, please ask your family member to send me an email directly from Budget Flow via Settings => Contact Developer. The included support information will help me check which purchase status the app receives on their device. Screenshots of the Family Sharing settings and the Budget Flow purchase screen would also be helpful.

    Best regards,

    Fabian
