This app is truly fantastic. However, despite being able to enter so much data, reporting and comparing with previous periods is very difficult — sometimes even impossible.
If the “Overview” section (i.e. reporting) were more comprehensive, it would easily put this app ahead of many others in the store. I have a few suggestions:
I personally enter all my income and expenses into the app, but for users like me, the “Balance” section is not that important.
What really matters is how much I spend month by month, which categories I spend on, and being able to compare these periods.
In the Overview section, let’s say I select the year 2025. When I go to Total Expenses and choose the Bar Chart, I can nicely see the monthly breakdown. However, when I tap on a specific month, it would be great if it directly showed the transactions for that month.
Right now, I have to manually change the month from the top, then reselect 2025, reopen the bar chart, and tap the month again. This is very time-consuming.
Still in the Overview section, when I tap on a category at the bottom (again, with 2025 selected), I can see the expenses for that period, which is great.
However, the Analysis section shows a cumulative chart, which doesn’t make much sense. If I’m viewing 2025, I should see month-by-month spending for that category — for example: For health; January $1300, February $700, etc.
Then, tapping on a specific month should show the transactions for that month. That would be perfect.
The filters available in the Search section would also be very useful if they were available in the Transactions and Overview sections.
In the Overview section, Account Balance is shown, but we can’t compare spending across accounts. It should be possible to see, on a single screen, something like:
This month: Account X spent $1000, Account Y spent $600.
