Please add saving goals for bank accounts

It would be nice if we can set saving goals for bank accounts and then a get a visual representation of our current savings.
Like a progress bar (left side is 0, right side is saving goal, current progress would be the current savings)

    Hi Fabian,

I agree that it would be very helpful to make this app not just track transactions but enable saving. Unless I’m missing something, there’s no way to set aside money for a specific saving goal. To add to this, it would be nice to designate this money as set aside so the user doesn’t get the impression they have more surplus than they actually have in a month.

For example, if my income is 500 I save 200 for a specific goal that month that means I only have 300 that can be budgeted or is “available to spend”.

    Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I’d love for a type of “vault” feature. In my savings budget account I could set up “vaults” that I transfer money to, however the overall total amount in the savings account would still include all of the money as it is in the same bank account. However inside of the account, the main vault would reflect just the balance without the other savings goals’ vaults. That’s how I would do it.

    i.e.

    • Savings Account Total: $3000

      • Savings Account main vault: $2000

      • Next Summer Travel vault: $700

      • Next iPhone purchase vault: $100

      • Next MacBook Pro purchase vault: $200

This is very helpful for planning. I have an instance too like. I am planning for a holiday in 3 months. I will set a goal to save the amount. It should guide me like how much i need to save on each month/week/day. This will help for perfect future plannings.

This functionality would be great! I think it is very important in financial control because it helps create savings habits and achieve financial goals and not just keep track of expenses.

I think it is also best if there is a way to not include the amount on savings to your total balance because savings should not be used or something

I got some ideas to add to this feature request:

    • When making a transaction from a main bank account to a savings account, you can choose which goal you want to build towards.

    • I saw another request about a carry-over unused budget function; you could also choose to carry over to a savings account (for faster saving).

    • Multiple saving goals, so a dedecated page for adding them.

A related feature would be an option to exclude transfer to savings from available balance. For example if my income is 1000, and I transfer 200 to savings, my available balance should show as 800. If the transfer is excluded from statistics, available balance is still 1000.

One workaround is to include transfer out in statistics but exclude the contra transfer in from statistics. Or to manually log transfer out as an expense and transfer in as an income that is excluded from statistics. Neither solution is ideal.
